![]() I hope next month when Apple announces iOS 14 and the new macOS that they will refine their reminders to-do list or Things 3 would include the above. It would also be helpful to assign tasks to others and to include file attachments which apple reminders offers. Apple reminders does for the longest time (not infinite). Because the issue with apps in iOS/macOS is, they don’t remain on the lock screen. Things 3 for the most part as a task manager but reminders if there is a very important task I need to be reminded off. I was playing a lot between Apple reminders and things 3 and ended up using both. I love it because it creates subcategories in a project in an appealing way. Another amazing feature is the Headings breakthrough line. So i tagged them and when I had walk through, I selected the tag accordingly and it showed me all of their outstanding tasks right away. Some I assigned to the electrician, some to the designer, some to the joinery guy etc etc. When I created a project called PARIS, it contained about 50 outstanding tasks. One example is a Construction project I did, let’s call it PARIS. Expensive but it helped me in many ways especially for more complex projects which contains a lot of tasks. I tried a lot in the past and purchased Things 3 for iPhone, iPad and Mac. I mainly use it only for recurrent reminders these days. Things is not missing much to be the real winner, but I lost hope to have any form of collaboration and kind of just gave up on the whole thing. And finally, I really don’t like the fact that todoist handles ical entries as tasks. and the lack of start/deadline dates is also a bummer. It doesn’t feel right for what I do and I hate the concept. its collaboration aspect is great, but I dont like the fact that you can’t put any detail in a task. I also really love how things integrates ical entries in the today and upcoming views.Īnd then todoist. I use ical and apple reminders for things I have to manage with my partner but I would reaaaaally prefer to have it all in one nice app. I already bought Things 3 for all platforms (phone, ipad and mac) but I really only use it on my phone now. Things is clearly great, but the lack of collaboration is a real bummer for me. How about neither? :) joke aside, I have had the same dilemma for many months now. I am torn, but should I bite the bullet and purchase the $50 Mac app and go full-time with Things 3? Other than that, I feel like I might be missing out on the shared task list feature that Todoist has, even though I almost never need to share lists with anyone. The one thing I wish it had though, was the natural language input that Todoist has. I think the project/area zone is much cleaner than Todoist. I love Things 3 for it's quick input function on Mac and overall stellar design. I am aware that there are other threads about this, and I have read them, but I am wanting to get more updated thoughts from the community. ![]() However I am now down to deciding between Todoist and Things 3. I ended up taking TickTick off of my list as I felt Todoist just did a few things slightly better even though I enjoyed the UI of TickTick more. I have tried Todoist, TickTick, and bought the Things 3 iPhone app (took the $10 risk) and used the free trial of the Mac app. I have been changing many aspects of my life and after watching a ton of productivity videos on YouTube, I decided to try out some to do list apps.
